Help@Work Program 

We’ll Get You Back on Track

Help@Work provides immediate and appropriate support to people at risk of losing their employment due to the impact of their nonwork related injury, health condition or disability. This includes physical injury or illness, mental illness and severe emotional issues. It is funded by the Australian Government through the Disability Employment Services Job in Jeopardy Program. Services are confidential and you can decide whether or not to involve your employer.

In addition to providing supportive case management and linking with other health professionals and support organisations, there are a range of specific services that can be included in your employment assistance program.

These will depend on your individual circumstances and needs, and may include the following:

  • Workplace assessments and advice
  • Workplace modifications and adjustments
  • Provision of assistive equipment
  • Short-term counselling
  • Education and awareness training for managers and colleagues relating to managing disabilities and health conditions in the workplace

For Workers

 

Are you struggling at work? Would you like assistance to keep your job?

If you answered yes, read on, you may be eligible for Federal Government assistance through The ORS Group’s Help@Work Program, at no cost to you or your employer.

Eligibility Criteria

    • Are you employed for more than 8 hours per week?
    • Do you have a health or medical condition (including psychological conditions) placing your job at risk?
    • Are you an Australian resident?
    • Are you aged 14-65 years?
    • Do you live or work in our service coverage area? (See our DES site locations to see if there is an office near you.

 

If you meet these criteria, The ORS Group has staff that can assist you to keep your job. We are experienced in helping individuals who are having workplace issues and worry about losing their job as a result of:

    • Physical injury,
    • Illness, and/or
    • Mental Health issues (including depression, anxiety and stress).

 

How to Access the Service

You do not need a referral to access this service. To get support through the Help@Work program, you can either register directly by attending a DES office in the area that you work or live, contact The ORS Group on 1800 000 677 or enquire online and one of our staff will put you in contact with your nearest office for assistance.

Once you commence in the Help@Work Program, we will create a flexible, individualised program to meet your needs to help you keep your job.

For Employers

    • If they meet these criteria, The ORS Group has staff that can assist them to keep their job and save you the expense and time of re-hiring and training a suitable replacement.

 

We are experienced in helping individuals who are having workplace issues and who are at risk of losing their job as a result of:

    • Physical injury,
    • Illness, and/or
    • Mental Health issues (including depression, anxiety and stress).

 

Service Details

Once your employee is commenced in the Help@Work Program, we will create a flexible, individualised program to meet their needs as well as those of your organisation. This includes an assessment of barriers impacting employment and development of strategies to manage these.

Strategies that may be implemented include:

    • Workplace assessments (including access to the Employment Pathway Fund for federal government funded assistance with the provision of required equipment or physical workplace modifications)
    • Short-term psychological counseling
    • Exercise programs
    • Ongoing monitoring for up to 26 weeks once employment is secure and stable
    • Additional funding for on-the-job training of individuals over 55 years of age
    • Training and education for you and/or your employee’s colleagues to better understand their health or medical condition
    • On the job training and support
    • Vocational planning

 

How to Access the Service

To get support through the Help@Work program, your employee can either register directly by attending a DES office in the area that they work or live , or you can contact The ORS Group on 1800 000 677 or enquire online and one of our staff will put you in contact with your nearest office for assistance in how to refer your employee to this service. Alternatively, complete a Help@Work Referral Form and return it to us via email or fax and one of our staff will be in touch
