Mediation and Conflict Resolution

Resolve issues quickly and effectively!

The ORS Group uses mediation as a facilitative process whereby our mediator helps the involved parties develop a shared understanding of the relevant issues and agree to suitable solutions.

Mediation can be employed to help address workplace conflict whether it is between colleagues or between managers and their staff. The ORS Group’s role in this process is to facilitate discussions between those involved, as a neutral party, by ensuring a safe forum in which the involved parties can discuss the relevant issues. We ensure that the discussions remain relevant to the issue and that opinions are expressed in an appropriate manner avoiding intimidation, personal attacks and aggression to ensure all parties feel comfortable to contribute openly and honestly to finding a viable solution.

The ORS Group provides the assistance through mediation based on the unique characteristics of the circumstances and people involved. As such, our process is flexible and tailored to meet the needs of all involved.

Typical mediation includes:

    • establishing ground rules and boundaries
    • detailing organisational expectations
    • providing parties the opportunity to detail their stories
    • identifying key issues
    • clarifying (common) objectives
    • problem solving to identify options
    • facilitating discussion and agreement by both parties on workable solutions
