Psychology services available at ORS
We provide a range of psychology services including psychological assessments, therapy services and professional counselling through employee assistance programs, to help people work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their lives.
Our services are for all ages and include assessments to diagnose both mental health conditions and disorders including ASD and ADHD. Our psychologists will recommend appropriate strategies and can also provide ongoing therapy that is tailored to each individual’s circumstances and goals.
A range of funding options are available to ensure these services are accessible to everyone, including NDIS, Early Childhood Intervention, Medicare Better Access, privately paid or through your employer for our EAP services.
In Western Australia, our services can also be funded by WAPHA when referred by the MindSpot GP digital mental health service.
Psychological Assessments
Psychological assessments cover a broad range of assessments aimed to evaluate a person’s presentation, behaviour, mental health and cognition, and to identify suitable recommendations and services to improve their overall quality of life relative to these areas. Â
Psychological assessments are useful in determining a diagnosis, recommending appropriate strategies and assisting to gather evidence to support referrals and applications to additional services.Â
Psychological Therapy services
Psychological therapy involves having regular sessions with a psychologist or counsellor. Sessions can be in person or by video conference or telephone, depending on the service type. Therapy involves talking about current concerns, past issues, or future worries. Everyone is different in what they feel they need to focus on in their sessions and your therapist will help you develop goals for what you want to get out of the therapy. Â
We have registered psychologists as well as psychologists with additional qualifications in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, clinical neuropsychology, education and developmental psychology, and forensic psychology. Â
Employee Assistance Program
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides access for employees and their eligible immediate family to professional counselling services, funded by their employer. The providers of these services are all experienced psychologists and the service is completely confidential. EAP services are established through a service agreement contract between an employer and ORS.Â
