What is a Positive Behaviour Support Plan and how can we help?
Positive Behaviour Support Intervention assists participants to reduce the risk of harmful behaviours and supports positive outcomes.
The NDIS describes Specialist Behavioural Intervention Support as highly specialised intensive support interventions to address significantly harmful or persistent behaviours of concern. Development of behaviour support plans that temporarily use restrictive practices, with intention to minimise use of these practices.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and assessments focus on increasing a person’s quality of life including improving their skills and enhancing their independence. The goal is to decrease challenging behaviours through increasing skills, improving emotion regulation and introducing replacement behaviours. Our plans improve the capacity and confidence of the person’s support system in providing effective and valued support. Following the assessment which includes a functional behaviour assessment, a plan is developed and implemented with training and regular follow up and review.
Our NDIS Commission registered practitioners deliver positive, measurable and sustainable outcomes for people with disability and their families/friends/carers/support workers using evidence-informed processes and practices.
