Positive Behaviour Support

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support Intervention assists participants to reduce the risk of harmful behaviours and supports positive outcomes.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and assessments focus on increasing a person’s quality of life including improving their skills and enhancing their independence. The goal is to decrease challenging behaviours through increasing skills, improving emotion regulation and introducing replacement behaviours. Our plans improve the capacity and confidence of the person’s support system in providing effective and valued support. Following the assessment which includes a functional behaviour assessment, a plan is developed and implemented with training and regular follow-up and review.

Our NDIS Commission registered practitioners deliver positive, measurable and sustainable outcomes for people with disability and their families/friends/carers/support workers using evidence-informed processes and practices.

ORS is registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to provide therapeutic supports including specialist behavioural intervention support, management plans and training in NSW, ACT & WA. We employ a large range of experienced and NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioners including Registered and Clinical Psychologists, Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists who work together in managing and reducing the full spectrum of behaviours of concern and restrictive practices.

We specialise in Autism, Intellectual Disability, Forensic, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, Children, Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Comorbidity, and Eating Disorders. Use our referral form or enquiry form below to see how we can help today.
