 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselling

Both personal and work-related difficulties can affect an individual’s performance at work, so it’s important to have access to confidential help at an early stage, to deal with potential issues promptly and effectively. Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) are funded by employers to enable their employees to access counselling services 24/7 to maximise work performance.

Our EAP services are provided by Registered Psychologists who have the counselling skills and experience to help your employees and their families address any issues that are causing stress and potentially impacting their work performance. They are experienced in supporting people with the following concerns:

  • Relationship issues
  • Managing conflict
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Grief and loss issues
  • Self-esteem and self-worth issues
  • Coping with change
  • Sleeping difficulties
  • Managing stress
  • Work/life balance
  • Anger Management
  • Alcohol and drug issues
  • Phobias
  • Gambling
  • Work issues (bullying, harassment etc.)

Our EAP Portal is accessible to all employees and eligible family members of our EAP employers and provides information and helpful tips and strategies for dealing with specific issues, and links to appropriate community services.

For more information on Employment Assistance Programs, contact us on 1800 000 677, email, or enquire online today.

If you do not have access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services and need crisis support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Critical Incident Response

Having effective risk management and response strategies in place for critical workplace incidents is essential to minimising the financial impact of these significant workplace incidents. ORS provide both group and individual interventions and follow-up services to help ensure that your team get the support they need. Getting the right professional support initiated early helps mitigate related risks such as: performance issues, job turnover, stress-related illness, Workers’ Compensation claims and other mental health issues that may arise.

Our Psychologists provide support to you and your team to ensure their safety, diffuse the situation, reduce the chaos, and provide coping and support resources to help prevent the onset of delayed psychological reactions.

Mediation / Conflict Management

When disputes occur in the workplace they can result in operational and financial loss for your business. Conflict is often between people who work closely together in an environmental and operational sense. Mediation can be a suitable process for managing conflict between the involved parties, to ensure that everyone can continue to work in a safe and supportive environment, and meet their fullest potential by eliminating the disruptive, emotional and financial cost of workplace conflict.

ORS facilitate the mediation process by providing a safe forum where the involved parties can discuss relevant issues, develop a shared understanding, and ultimately agree to suitable solutions. Our process is flexible and tailored to the needs of your organisation and involved parties.

Vocational Assessments & Counselling

Sometimes injured workers are not able to return to pre-injury work. In these cases it is important to quickly find an alternative job role or industry that aligns with their physical and psychological capabilities as well as their workplace skills, experience and education.

ORS Psychologists are highly experienced in working within the Workers’ Compensation system to help injured workers identify suitable alternative job roles that align with medical recommendations and personal capabilities. Each assessment is tailored to the worker, with a number of possibilities suitable to be presented to key stakeholders for approval. In some instances a full assessment is not required and some vocational counselling sessions will be enough to help the injured worker identify suitable alternatives.
