Worksite Assessments

Worksite assessments help you to create a safer, more productive working environment for your team by managing risk, preventing injuries and reducing accidents. This can prevent costly compensation claims being made against you in the future.

Our university qualified consultants will work with you and your employee to assess the fit between them and their work environment, the tasks they need to perform, the tools and equipment they use, the needs of their colleagues and those of your organisation. Following consultation, a comprehensive report will outline our recommendations to optimise work efficiency and performance while minimising the risk of injury.

If you have any questions about these services, contact us on 1800 000 677 or ors@orsgroup.com.au

Ergonomic assessments should be part of your overall risk strategy

Ergonomic Assessments

Office workers are not immune to workplace injuries. Sitting for 40 hours a week at a computer undertaking repetitive tasks can result in injury or aggravation of a pre-existing condition. Something as simple as rearranging a workstation, encouraging ‘posture breaks’ or providing basic ergonomic equipment can have a positive impact on the interaction between a worker and their workstation.

Ergonomic assessments should be part of your overall risk strategy. If you can prevent injuries, reduce accidents and improve physical/mental wellbeing, you’ll keep employees working at their most efficient. AND you’ll reduce the likelihood of compensation claims being made against you.

One of our qualified staff will visit the office (or a home-based office if required) to assess the fit between an employee and their work environment in consideration of the tasks they need to perform, the needs of their colleagues and the organisation, and the tools and equipment they use. At the time of the assessment, we will work with you and your employee to make any recommended changes to their setup and work practices to optimise their work efficiencies and performance while minimising the load on their body. In a comprehensive report, we will outline any additional recommendations such as specialised equipment or tools to reduce the biomechanical load on the worker and improve their efficiency and effectiveness in completing their tasks each day, all while reducing their risk of injury.

Vocational Assessments and Counselling

Sometimes injured workers are not able to return to work with you. In these cases it is important to quickly find an alternative job role or industry that aligns with their physical and psychological capabilities as well as their workplace skills, experience and education.

ORS Psychologists are highly experienced in working within the Workers’ Compensation system to help injured workers identify suitable alternative job roles that align with medical recommendations and personal capabilities. Each assessment is tailored to the worker, with a number of possibilities ultimately presented to key stakeholders for approval. In some instances a full assessment is not required and some vocational counselling sessions will be enough to help the injured worker identify suitable alternatives.

If you have any questions about these services, contact us on 1800 000 677 or ors@orsgroup.com.au

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)

Worried that an injured worker might be doing more harm to themselves? Want to make sure that you are hiring people that can handle the physical demands of your workplace? A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) may give you the answers you need to make the right decisions.

FCEs are designed to ensure that an individual can handle the physical demands of the job role without aggravating an existing injury or causing another one. FCE reports will highlight any areas of concern and capabilities of the injured or prospective worker, along with recommendations for workplace adjustments or adaptive equipment that would support an injured worker in a return to work.
